The I-84 and I-91interchange in Hartford is known as one of the worst in the country. It cuts off the North End of Hartford from the rest of the city, blocks access to the riverfront. Additionally, our levees have been identified as needing to be upgraded to keep our community safe from flooding.
John’s plan would fix ALL of these issues.
His proposal is to bury I-84 and I-91 underground, turning those roads back into local boulevards, which would allow us to recapture the riverfront, fix our aging levees, and reconnect the North End.
These upgrades would all be able to done, without shutting down the city of Hartford. His bold vision would modernize Hartford’s infrastructure and create a new atmosphere for the future.
