John was proud to lead the fight for the passage of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Now, he’s proud to lead the fight agains the repeal of the ACA, and instead work to improve our current system.
John introduced a plan that would allow Americans ages 50-64 years old to buy into Medicare.
Medicare is on of our nation’s most efficient programs and would create an affordable option for those who are experiencing some of the highest prices on health care exchanges.
Right now, the average Gold plan on the ACA health care exchanges for a 60 year old costs $13,308; based on projections from experts, a comparable premium for John’s could be as low as $8,212.
John’s plan would lower costs across the board for health insurance and would also allow 50-64 year olds with employer sponsored insurance to buy into Medicare, and still have their employers contribute to their premiums.
