Champion of the nation’s first state law codifying Roe earns unanimous backing from top reproductive rights groups
Hartford, CT — Today, Reproductive Freedom for All (formerly NARAL Pro-Choice America), one of the country’s most prominent reproductive rights organizations with over 4 million members, announced its endorsement of John Larson for re-election to Congress.
Reproductive Freedom for All joins Planned Parenthood Action Fund in its endorsement, with Larson now having earned support from the nation’s two largest and most influential reproductive rights organizations. Larson holds a 100% voting record from both Reproductive Freedom for All and Planned Parenthood.
“John Larson has been an unwavering champion for reproductive freedom in Connecticut, and we’re proud to back him for reelection,” said Mini Timmaraju, President and CEO of Reproductive Freedom for All. “Sending John back to the House will bring us one step closer to electing a reproductive freedom majority that will protect and expand abortion access, defend our freedom to make our own personal decisions, and fight back against attacks from Trump and his anti-abortion extremist allies in Congress.”

Larson holds a perfect record in the fight for reproductive justice then, and now:
- In the State Senate, Larson shepherded the first-in-the-nation law codifying Roe v. Wade into state statute, working alongside Reproductive Freedom for All (then NARAL), Planned Parenthood, and the Permanent Commission on the Status of Women. Because of that foresight, Connecticut residents’ right to abortion remained fully protected when Roe was overturned.
- In Congress, Larson fights to enshrine reproductive rights at the federal level:
- He voted to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would enshrine Roe’s protections in federal law, and joined his Democratic colleagues in reintroducing the bill last year.
- He introduced the Stop Comstock Act to block any future administration from imposing a backdoor national abortion ban.
- He cosponsored the EACH Act to repeal the Hyde Amendment, and the Ensuring Women’s Right to Reproductive Freedom Act to protect patients who travel across state lines for care.
The endorsements from the nation’s two leading reproductive rights organizations add to a massive and growing progressive coalition behind Larson, including three dozen labor unions and the Working Families Party.
